Need Help with Your 2014 New Year’s Resolutions? Solar Power to the Rescue!

It’s that time of year when everyone starts to think about their New Year’s resolutions. We all want to do better, but let’s face it, sometimes just thinking about the resolutions on your list can be overwhelming. Here’s how going solar can help you meet your 2014 goals without a lot of effort, but some awesome results. We can help you make 2014 the year you finally accomplish everything on your list!

#1 – Save More Money With a Solar System

Going solar is a great way to save more money—and not just this year.  With solar, you significantly reduce, if not completely eliminate your electric bill for the next 25-30 years! Getting rid of a current electric bill of $100 / month, means you’ll save more than $30,000. If you can’t or don’t want to spend the money upfront to buy your solar panels, you can still go solar with a solar loan or a solar lease. Both options have $0 down options and monthly payments that are less than your current electric bill. You’ll be saving right away without any upfront costs. Save more money in 2014?  CHECK!

#2 – Take Better Care of Myself With Solar

While solar can’t help you lose weight, it can play a role in improving your overall health. The typical home solar power system avoids 140 tons of carbon emissions over its lifetime, so it’s helping to reduce the air pollution you and your family are exposed to. Smog and other air quality issues are responsible for a variety of lung ailments. With solar, you’ll be breathing easier. Take better care of myself in 2014? CHECK!

#3 – Be Kinder to the Planet

The carbon emissions that don’t happen because you’ve gone solar are the equivalent of planting 3,000 trees or taking 27 cars off the road. Solar power has the potential to stop climate change in its tracks. Installing a solar panel system at your home or business puts you on the frontline of this fight. If you want to help even more, you can participate in our partner programs with organizations like the Sierra Club and World Wildlife Fund. Be kinder to the planet? CHECK!

#4 – Make the World a Better Place

Obviously, the environmental benefits paint a brighter happier picture for our planet, but solar has other global benefits, too.  Going solar also helps the economy. Over the next 10 years, solar and other clean energies are expected to add 3-5 million jobs in the U.S. Because these jobs tend to be higher paying and generally aren’t “outsource-able,” they’re going to be a powerful driver of the U.S. economy.

Solar is also a clear pathway to helping the U.S. achieve energy independence from foreign oil. Because the U.S. consumes so much more oil than it produces (25% vs. 3%) we’re transferring billions of dollars from our economy to oil producing companies, many of which have links to funding global terrorism. With solar, that money stays in the U.S.  Make the world a better place? CHECK!

#5 – Help Your Community

There’s one last point to consider—the benefits solar provides to the people around you.  All of the positive qualities of solar described above, don’t just benefit you, they benefit your community (locally and globally), too. Help others? CHECK!

I would like to go solar for all my power needs at home excepting hvac. I have some money to start and I would like to buy solar panels first [@ 10 units 300w each] . I will do the rack system and I believe panels is the most is the most expensive part of this deal. Which panels do you recommend, please?
